Unfortunately, owing to the ongoing pandemic, no internal competitions were held this year. We look forward to being able to run our normal programme of competitions during 2022.
CHAIRLADY'S MESSAGE (for the 2021 season)
Dear Members and Friends,
As another season comes to an end we look back at how, due to the relaxation of some restrictions surrounding the pandemic and subsequently our sport, we were able to take a step nearer to what we would class as a normal bowling season.
We enjoyed some competitive bowling with the reopening of the leagues, in which although classed as “uncompetitive”, our Friday Vets team got through to the final of the HABA Division one Cup and the Monday night team managed to complete the season not losing a match. Congratulations to all our teams who took part this year including our many new members who took part in league bowling for the first time. Also, along with the ability to run our internal doubles competitions and with changes to our end of season bash celebrations we were able to have some fun taking part in an afternoon of Hong Kong pairs followed by an enjoyable buffet at Cromwells which gave us all an opportunity to catch up socially. My thanks go to all those involved in making this happen.
Looking ahead to next year we hope to be able to complete a full season of events we can all enjoy, which will include celebrating the Centenary of the establishment of our bowling green.
I look forward to seeing you all at the AGM in January and our Cheese and Wine evening in March 2022.
Until then, stay safe and well and on behalf of the Committee, I wish you and your families a Happy and Healthy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.
