LADIES MERIT COMPETITION - 4/8/24 @ Boston Spa BC
This year we had five entries into the competition - Sarah Jarvis, Anne Brabin, Helen Danby, Amy Wilson and Christine Lord and what a competition it turned out to be. As the competition progressed we thought we were in with a chance of an all Collingham final and that is exactly what happened. Amy and Sarah played a great final with Amy coming out the winner 21 - 11. All our ladies were fantastic and helped make the event a great day and did our club proud.

CLUB FINALS DAY
This will be held on Sunday 15th September from 10am and is always a great day for both bowlers who are playing in the various finals and spectators alike. Plenty of refreshments on offer alongside a BBQ.

CLOSURE OF THE GREEN
The green will close for the year on Sunday 29th September. Work will commence on the green on Monday 30th September and progress through the winter to get ready for the 2025 season.

ANNUAL PRESENTATION DINNER
This year the dinner is being held at Wetherby Golf Club on Friday 11th October at 7.30pm. Always a good night and a great end to our season.

CLUB AGM
Our AGM will take place on Monday 2nd December at 7.30pm in the Green Room at the Memorial Hall. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

REGISTRATION EVENING
This will take place on Monday 20th January starting at 7.30pm in the Green Room at the Memorial Hall. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

PRE-SEASON EVENT
This is our pre-season opening event and will be held in the Memorial Hall on Friday 7th March starting at 7.30pm. We will be putting on a pie & peas supper, refreshments plus a quiz. It proved a great start to the season in 2024 and we hope it will be as enjoyable this time round.

Bowls Development.

COACHING
This is the first stage in teaching the basics and rules of crown green bowling.  We have two qualified bowling coaches, Alan Scorfield and Geoff Jones, who hold coaching sessions every Thursday morning between the hours of 10am and 12 noon.  Each new player will receive three taster sessions for free then there will be a charge of £1.50 per session which will include refreshments. We have all the equipment you need to start off with and our only request is that you wear flat soled shoes whilst on the green (i.e., - trainers).
This is proving very successful and has led many of them to join the next stage of their development which we call the Muddles.

MUDDLES
The Muddles take place on a Monday and Thursday afternoons between 1pm and 5pm. They give members the chance to play players at different levels of ability and to develop their own game. Matches are played to 15 rather than 21 to give a quick turnround. It is fun and you can play as many games as you wish in the time allowed. We see these muddles as the next step to playing in one of our many league teams.

Regular Get togethers

Winter Coffee Mornings - 2024 / 2025
We are holding our third run of coffee mornings as the feedback we had from the previous two was overwhelming. Our first one is on the 17th October followed by the 14th November, 12th December and in 2025 on the 9th January, 6th February and the 6th March. Each one is being held in the Green Room at the Memorial Hall from 10am until 12 noon. As well as refreshments and cakes there will also be a book stall for you to browse through. Admission is free so come along, have a chat and make new friends.

Cromwell's village pub.
A new management team have taken over and are keen to carry on this monthly event and support our club.
We get together on the 1st Saturday of each month throughout the whole year. It is a great success especially in the closed season when members may not always stay in touch with each other. We meet around 5.30pm for a couple of hours and you can be there for the whole period or just drop in and the pub kindly put on a selection of nibbles for us to enjoy.
